Ghosts, Goblins, and Ghouls

•

Episode description

Three monsters, three records, and in every case the label is hiding something. Our goblins were written by two men who left no trace, our witch was recorded on the same afternoon as “Abide With Me,” and our Ouija board turns out to be a dance for courting couples — written by a man with six pen names, for a company that went bankrupt the month the record shipped. Hallowe’en is Saturday, so we’re opening the crypt early.

Hexenritt Lyrics:

Hurray! Now the witch is dead — dead as a mouse! Now fear and need have vanished. / Hurray! Now the witch is still — quiet as a little mouse — and there’s cake in heaps and heaps! / Hurray! Now the horror is over, the witch-horror, and the evil magic haunting is done. / So let us be merry, dance in the firelight, and hold the most glorious feast of joy in the crunch-house!
